Rumors about Facebook integration in Apples iOS devices have been circling around for years, since the pre iOS 4 days. But this time it looks like Facebook will finally be apart of iOS 6 much like Twitter is now. According to TechCrunch this is hinted by Apple CEO Tim Cook when he recently praised Facebook at the D10 conference late May.
"Following Cook’s most recent comments, there was much speculation about this finally happening."
"To be clear, Twitter will still very much be a part of the new iOS (presumably named “iOS 6″ and codenamed “Sundance“), and that company will be holding sessions at WWDC to chat more about the continued partnership (including the integration into the forthcoming OS X Mountain Lion). But Facebook integration will be very important for iOS — tons of apps use Facebook for sign-ups and authentication (many use Facebook as the only way to do this, to the dismay of some). Apple was undoubtedly watching this activity and realized that it was time to formally bring Facebook on board."For Facebook, this will be a big win for them. As it will most definitely bring extra users on board, and may help their share price bounce back, after Facebook's dreadful share slide during their first week of being public.
More than likely, the Facebook + iOS integration will be announced at Apple's upcoming World Wide Developer Conference where Apple will officially announce iOS 6.
