Retina Display MacBook Pro taken apart

The guys at iFixit have torn down the all new 15.4 inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. The new MacBook Pro with Retina Display is packed with awesome hardware such as: the new Intel Core i7 (Ivy Bridge) processors, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M graphics with 1GB of GDDR5 memory, 8GB DDR3L 1600 memory, all flash storage 256GB - 768GB, and most importantly the 15.4 inch LED Retina Display with class leading 2880 x 1800 resolution at 220dpi.

Just like the MacBook Air, the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display is virtually not upgradeable. The RAM is now soldered into the logic board and the flash storage has a proprietary connector that makes it incompatible with 3rd party flash storage. With the logic board out, you can see the Intel Core i7 (Ivy Bridge) processor marked in orange. The NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M GPU is marked in red. And the DDR3L 1600MHz memory is marked in green.
