The Ultimate Multi-Screen Mac Pro Desk Setup

Here is a desk setup that totally surrounds the user with nothing but Apple Mac's. The setup contains a U-shaped desk with 3 x Apple Cinema displays mounted with polished aluminium M8 monitor arms, hooked up to a Mac Pro that is cleverly suspended behind the desk. To top that off there's a MacBook Pro 15", MacBook Air 11", an iPad, iPhone 5 and huge surround sound speakers.

Mac Mini Cube - PowerMac G4 Cube Mod

Now here's a very practical way to make use of the old PowerMac G4 Cube, rip out all it's guts! and replace them with Intel Mac Mini parts. The design of the G4 cube is truly a work of art but the old PowerPC components within aren't up to today's standards. So a user of the 123macmini.com forums did the transformation by successfully taking a Mac Mini and fitting all its internals to the G4 Cube.

To make the G4 cube unique and stand out from the original, the inner cube within the clear acrylic was painted flat black.

3-Way SLI G5 Hackintosh Mod

Here is an example of a heavily modified PowerMac G5. The old G5 internals are gutted to make way for top end PC internals making the G5 a Mac Pro Hackintosh. The modder used a quad core Intel Xeon processor (used in the original Mac Pro) and successfully paired it with 3 x Nvidia Geforce GTX 480 graphics cards.

The internals are neatly presented with custom aluminium covering around the motherboard and its components. The side door is customised to feature a 3mm light grey perspex window to show off the 3 GTX 480's.

Powerbook Desktop Conversion Mod

Here is an exciting Mac mod done by Richard Hunt which features an old Mac Powerbook laptop converted into a sleek looking desktop Mac. The whole design is quite simple but very elegant, with the case made out of 2 sheets of white acrylic, bolted together by socket countersunk screws and using a 15mm chrome pipe as spacers between the 2 white acrylic sheets. The middle is then wrapped in perforated steel.

The result... A stunning desktop Mac and a clever way to make use of your old Mac notebook.
